Almost 100 Catholic Venezuelans gathered at Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Midvale on Sept. 8 to celebrate Our Lady of Coromoto, the patron saint of Venezuela.

Judge Memorial Catholic High School, The Madeleine Choir School, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and Kearns-St. Ann Catholic School collaborated to bring Jessica Lahey, an award-winning author and educator, to Utah.

The 22nd annual Bishop’s Dinner, held Sept. 4 at the Grand America, hosted more than 700 people, the largest gathering in its history, “a remarkable milestone for an event whose purpose is not only to support the cathedral financially, but to gather the broader community around the cathedral and its mission,” said Father Christopher Gray, rector, in an email three days before the event.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on August 12, 2026, at San Jose Catholic Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico, followed by burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Albuquerque.

The Christian initiation of adults in the Diocese of Salt Lake City is getting a boost from a groundbreaking initiative of Bishop Oscar Solis called the Worthy and Suitable Catechist appointment process.

As part of its journey through Utah, the Cross and Culture Relay will stop at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, for a 6:30 p.m. prayer service on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
