The Zion Catholic young adult group gathered May 15 at Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Orem for their first Catholic Connections. Participants came from more than 10 parishes from St. Joseph in Ogden to San Andres in Payson. Activities included a DJ spinning music, and icebreakers such as get-to-know-you bingo and connections lineup, where information was exchanged and friendships were made. Father Alejandro Landin, administrator of St. Jude Maronite Parish in Taylorsville, offered prayer and reflection. Another event is planned for June 13, again at St. Francis of Assisi Parish. During this event, which will be geared for young adults aged 21-35, Fr. Landin will pray and reflect on the vocation of marriage, and activities will include speed dating. A similar event will be held in the fall for young adults 18-25 years old. The Intermountain Catholic’s Around the Diocese listing will have information about these gathering when it is available.
