The Office of the Diaconate provides ongoing education, preparation, and guidance to men who served the Church as deacons. Formation takes place before ordination and afterward, and throughout a deacon's years of ministry. Local programs ensure that permanent deacons are ready and able to provide a thorough ministry of service in the particular circumstances in this Diocese.

Your warmly invited to join us for this year's Chrism Mass, a profound moment of unity and service for our diocesan community.
Date: Thursday, March 26, 2026
Time: 3:15 - 6:00 PM followed by the Chrism Mass at 6:30 PM
Location: The Cathedral of the Madeleine
Pre-Gathering:
A gathering will take place prior to the Mass for deacons and their wives. This is an opportunity to come together in fellowship, to pray and prepare our hearths for the sacred liturgy that follows.Upcoming Continuing Formation Session - Dr. Roland Millare

Prayer Requests for the Sick
LET US ALWAYS REMEMBER IN PRAYER THOSE ENTRUSTED TO OUR CARE.
As men and women of prayer, we have dedicated our lives to interceding for those in need. We must remain ever mindful of those who have asked for our prayers and for whom we have committed to pray.Please pray for all our beloved deceased, including those listed in the Diocese of Salt Lake City’s Book of Memorials.
We also ask for your prayers for those in our community who are sick, isolated, suffering from addiction, struggling with unemployment, or facing any of life’s many challenges. Let us pray for all who are hurting, and for those in need of healing and strength. Let us pray to the Lord.
