  • Living our Faith through Stewardship

Stewardship to me means sharing my life with the Lord. My way of “saying yes” to being the handmaid of The Handmaid” and letting God lead me to where He wants me to go, to offer myself where there is need. Through it I can see I am growing in confidence, in community and in my faith. In giving to others, I am receiving too. Saint Mother Teresa has always been and is still my favorite saint and as well as this quote of hers that teaches us about love. It goes something like this “

“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, you don’t have more hurt, but only more love.” Isn’t that what her stewardship was all about, love.” Isn’t that what Our Blessed Mother Mary’s life is all about, and all mothers and fathers, etc. Isn’t that what Our Lord did for us in His Passion, and continues to do for us at each Mass. My failures are still there at times, yes, but there are wonderful successes too. I encourage others to be open to the promptings of stewardship. To Gods gentle call to be led by Him. To saying your “yes” to Him, like Our wonderful first Handmaid did in her reply, “ let it be done to me according to your word.
I am so grateful to my Lord. For all the blessings and gifts that He has given me, and I fulfill my stewardship doing the following:

        • In my parish, I am always a volunteer for the activities we do. I love helping in any activity, from cleaning to serving food.

        • I use the gift of my voice in church every Sunday at 11:30 in the choir, praising and glorifying our King of Kings.

        • I send once or twice a month, a small message to my brothers and sisters in my parish via email in regard to matrimony, theology and certain social functions. ( I have completed a degree in canonical law and study theology, aside from that I am a life coach, and have training in clinical psychology)

        • I also help someone who is currently ill.

        • I attend to my daughters, giving them a home of love, peace and security.

        • I always try to give a hand to whomever needs it in different ways, advice, clothes donations, money, etc.

        • I always try to have a prayer in my heart because I understand that God lives in me. I am conscious of the fact that he lives in all of us.

        • I am always calling my family in Chile to make them feel loved, by giving them my attention.
        • Advise my daughters so that they are always good people by being humble, caring, honest, honest, independent, patient etc. Because I realized that all this is borrowed from my Lord and as a mother, I need to help them so they can return to Him.

        • Tell the Lord with my words "I am here to love you and receive your love".
My son and I our member of the Knights of Columbus, #10733. We also volunteer 2 days a week at the St. George Parish thrift shop.

Respectfully I submit that I live a Stewardship life by supporting my local parish and Diocese.
I support St Jude, Save the Children, Shriner’s Hospital and Special Olympics.  I love helping the poor and support needs for the Road Home.
My family and I are committed to helping the Brazilian Catholic community in Utah, not only by serving but also by leading and developing the community. Despite the challenges—for instance, having only one Portuguese-speaking priest—we do our best to stay united, support one another, and strengthen our community in faith. We are working to create as many prayer opportunities and outreach efforts as possible, striving to provide more chances for spiritual growth and fellowship for our brothers and sisters.

It has been a blessing to witness how faith unites people and how God provides the grace to continue this mission despite the difficulties.
