The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process through which unbaptized adults and children join or complete their initiation into the Catholic Church.

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is also for individuals who have been baptized into another Christian denomination and wish to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church.

Initiation consists of four periods of formation which are marked by rituals that celebrate what has been completed and call a person into the next phase. There is no specific length of time for each period. Initiation is a journey that “takes as long as it takes,” according to each individual. 

To begin the process of becoming Catholic, get connected to a parish community. Ask Catholic friends and neighbors about their parishes. Visit some parishes near your home. Don't be afraid to ask a Catholic friend to go with you to a Mass and to ask questions of those you meet. Know that most priests and parish leaders you'll meet at a Sunday Mass would be very happy to talk with you about becoming Catholic. Let them know that you're new to the Church and are thinking about becoming Catholic.

Rito de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos es el proceso a través del cual adultos y niños no bautizados se unen o completan su iniciación en la Iglesia Católica.

El rito es también para individuos que han sido bautizados en otra denominación cristiana y desean entrar en plena comunión con la Iglesia Católica.

Rito de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos consista en cuatro períodos de formación que están marcados por rituales que celebran lo que se ha completado y llaman a una persona a la siguiente fase.
