Jeffery Todd Wilkerson

Jeffery Todd Wilkerson, 58, passed away on June 20, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with genetic liver disease and the challenges that followed his liver transplant. His determination, resilience and unwavering will to live inspired everyone who knew him. We are in awe of the strength he showed until the very end, and while our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for every moment we shared with him.Jeffery was born on October 10, 1967, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was raised in the city he proudly called home throughout his life.
A proud graduate of the University of Utah, Jeff earned a degree in Fine Arts before building a successful 27-year career as a mortgage lender. While his professional life was marked by dedication and integrity, his creative spirit never faded. Jeff was an exceptionally talented photographer who found beauty in everyday moments and had a remarkable gift for capturing them through his lens.
In 1992, Jeff married the love of his life, Maureen (Mo). Together they built a beautiful life over 34 years of marriage, raising two children, Tyler and Kathleen, and creating a home filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support.
Jeff was the kind of person who could make an entire room erupt in laughter. His quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and unforgettable dance moves became legendary among family and friends. He possessed a rare combination of bravery, kindness, wisdom, and generosity, always offering encouragement, guidance, and a helping hand to those around him. One of Jeff’s greatest gifts was building community. He connected people from every walk of life, and it wasn’t uncommon for two people who met because of him to become lifelong friends. His impact reached far beyond his own relationships, it lived in the countless connections he created between others.
To know Jeff was to know his love of golf. If he wasn’t with his family or at work, chances are he was on the golf course. Golf wasn’t simply a hobby- it was his greatest passion and one of his greatest joys. He also spent many years playing softball with his close friends on their beloved team, the Lizards, creating lifelong friendships and countless memories.
Above all else, Jeff was devoted to his family. He coached his children’s sports teams, never missed an opportunity to cheer them on, and worked tirelessly to provide them with every opportunity possible. His greatest role, however, was becoming “Papa.” His granddaughter, Stella Mo, brought him immeasurable joy, and he loved her with every part of his soul. The bond they shared was one of the greatest blessings of his life.
Despite facing numerous health challenges, Jeff never let his circumstances define him. He met every obstacle with courage, determination, and hope, never wavering in his love for his family or his commitment to living life as fully as possible. His adventurous spirit, boundless enthusiasm, creativity, and deep appreciation for life’s beauty touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Jeff leaves behind a legacy of laughter, compassion, hard work, and unconditional love. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud and doting grandfather. Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in knowing that his wisdom, kindness, humor, and adventurous spirit will continue to live on in all who loved him.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Maureen (Mo) Wilkerson; his children, Jeffery Tyler Wilkerson and Kathleen Brown (Daniel Brown); his cherished granddaughter, Stella Mo Brown; his father, Terry Kohkonen; and his sister, Sheli (Spencer Dowdle). He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Peggy Kohkonen. and his grandmother, Betty Ross.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the parking and entrance on the north side of the building.  In honor of Jeff’s vibrant spirit and love of life, family and friends are encouraged to wear colorful attire – or even a favorite golf shirt instead of traditional black.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane, Salt Lake City.
Jeff lived with humor, courage, creativity, and an open heart. He loved deeply, laughed often, and left the world far brighter than he found it. His family will miss him beyond words – but his love, his laughter, the countless memories he created will remain with us forever.
