Marjorie Everill Newson passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026. She was born in Salt Lake City on November 6, 1943. The daughter of Dale and Mildred Everill, she spent some of her early years in Fairbanks, Alaska. Together with her sister Michele and her brother Joseph, they later returned to Utah. Margie, as she preferred to be called, attended Judge Memorial Catholic High School, where she graduated in 1961. In 1962 she met the love of her life, James, while they both were working at Mountain Fuel Supply. They were married June 6, 1963, at the Cathedral of the Madeline in Salt Lake City. Jim and Margie settled in Bountiful City, where they have been residents for the past 63 years. In 1974 she began work at the Associated Federal Employees Federal Credit Union as a teller, eventually reaching the position of manager and CEO during her 30+ year career. In retirement, Jim and Margie traveled extensively throughout the highways and byways of the United States as members of the Utah Miata Club. Margie served as treasurer of the Miata Club for 11 years. She also helped organize many rallies for the club.
