SALT LAKE CITY — Over the years, the Intermountain Catholic has received numerous awards for its journalistic efforts from the two professional newspaper organizations to which it belongs: the Utah Press Association and the Catholic Media Association. Most of the awards were based on the circulation category, but some were in the open category, meaning that they competed against entries from newspapers of all sizes.Awards were earned in every area of print journalism: news reporting, feature writing, editorials, photography and advertising. A comprehensive list from first place to honorable mention would be unwieldy, but the top awards received in the past 39 years follow.
