Los participantes del Proyecto Ulster en Utah se reunieron con el obispo Oscar A. Solis en la Catedral de la Magdalena el 30 de junio.

Después de casi 45 años como sacerdote, el padre Francisco Pires está a punto de jubilarse.

Fr. Pires, who since 2020 has served as pastor of Saint Henry Parish in Brigham City and its associated mission, Santa Ana in Tremonton, was ordained to the priesthood Dec. 8, 1984 in Tobaráo, Brazil. He will retire on Aug. 1.

Pope Leo XIV’s prayer intention for July is for respect for human life: “Let us pray for the respect and protection of human life in all its stages, recognizing it as a gift from God.”

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, let us honor not only those who founded this nation, but also those who continue to build it every day.

The Carmel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 5714 Holladay Blvd., Salt Lake City, will celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on Thursday, July 16, beginning with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will follow at 7:30 p.m., after which will be enrollment in the brown scapulars. All are invited.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 6, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
